Over the years, we’ve supported several Christian Aid initiatives (the Trade
Justice Bus in 2012, for example), and a couple of Tearfund events, but
we’ve never had the opportunity to get involved with Cafod, whose supporters make such a valuable contribution to our ‘coalition’.
UNTIL NOW! Furthermore, taken up with the Enough Food IF campaign last year, we’ve allowed ourselves to neglect the greatest injustice of them all –
namely climate change.
SO I COMMEND this event to you, featuring Antony Mbandi, the director of a
Cafod partner in Kenya, who’ll describe the effects of climate change on his
community and how green energy projects are helping them to adjust. It will
be chaired by Kevin Haigh, Chair of NE-CAP.
Refreshments will be served.
Friday 4th July, 3.00-4.00pm;
Clement Stephenson Lecture Theatre, Agriculture Building, Newcastle
University. [Less than 5 minutes from Haymarket.]
From Haymarket, go up St Thomas’s Street; take first on right (King’s Road);
the Agriculture Building is the first on your right.
It’s number 16 on the campus map:
